Account creation: no activation mails received

Hi,

just wanted to raise awareness that there might be something wrong/suboptimal with how activation e-mails are sent in the account creation process.

I tried to create an account with multiple addresses hosted at different providers and never received an activation mail (not even in the spam). Finally I signed up via Google, which worked without problem.

Assuming this also happens for other people, maybe this could be fixed or at least acknowledged as a potential problem/solution in a message displayed in the process.
